APM Terminals commenced operations in Nigeria in March, 2006. Apapa is
Nigeria’s largest port and contains a number of wharfs. To date, the

This position offers an outstanding opportunity to join the global team
at APM Terminals and contribute to the success of the organization. The
position reports to Project Implementation Manager.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Efficient execution of Projects.
Manage the Project Management budget.
Prepare budgets for the Projects to be managed.
Cost control for Projects managed.
Identify areas of cost reduction.
Manage the Project accounting together with APMT Apapa Finance Department
Invoicing for Projects managed.
Accounts for Projects managed.
Deliver Projects to Customer, including:
Pre-contract work – technical and commercial.
Contracts management.
Design coordination.
Consultant Project Engineer co-ordination.
Safety compliance.
Quality assurance co-ordination.
Project management.
Project schedules.
Commissioning and Acceptance co-ordination.
Customer satisfaction:
Maintain courteous and professional relationships with Customers.
Follow up for Customers concurrence/ approval regularly on every aspect of the Project development.
Seek Customer feedback to improve service level.
Contribute to planning and conduct of Customer surveys.
Maintain courteous and professional relationships with Suppliers and Consultants.
Contribute to APMT standards, procedures, guidelines and templates for Project Management.
Assist in development of APMT standards and guidelines for engineering and technical procurement within:
Specifications.
Contracts.
Quality Assurance.
Manufacturing & Commissioning.
Build up and store know-how about the Projects in a systematic and structured way.
Systematically close out each Project.
YOUR PROFILE
Civil Engineer.
Relevant experience including knowledge of civil engineering design,
construction, delivery, acceptance. Terminal Engineering experience in
Projects would be beneficial.
Relevant experience and understanding of Project Management for Engineering Projects.
Considerable drive and interest in the Project Management process and
its improvement and optimization for total cost of ownership.
Self-starter, taking initiatives to influence events to achieve goals.
Good level of business understanding in job related areas, focus on cost and cash flow.
Well-organized, timely, and persistent.
Effective teamwork – inside and outside own organization and authority lines.
Possess empathy, personal tact, cultural understanding, and strong communication skills.
